The Alma Airedales still have a pulse.

They also get to play a home playoff game.

Landon Blair threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Grayson Bailey with 4:36 left to play and capped a wild fourth quarter comeback with a 1-yard touchdown run with 49 seconds left to give the Airedales a 34-33 win over Forrest City.

Alma (5-6) will host White Hall (7-4) this Friday.

The Mustangs (8-3) took a 33-20 lead with 4:56 left before Josh Davis’ 33-yard kickoff return set up the Airedales at the visitor’s 44.

Blair connected with Bailey on the next play to cut the deficit to six.

Earlier, Bailey scored two touchdowns, including a 45-yard run, to help Alma build a 20-7 lead. Blair also had a 9-yard TD run.

Joseph York, whose first half interception led to Bailey’s second TD run, alertly grabbed a short punt near midfield to set up the Airedales’ winning drive.

Blair hit Bobby Winfrey with a 19-yad completion to the Mustangs’ 32. Two plays later, Davis ran around the right end for 9 yards to the 18.

Two plays after that, Davis burst up the middle for 13 yards to the 3, setting up Blair’s short TD run.

Olaf Olsson booted the PAT to give Alma the lead.

Bailey sealed Alma’s sixth first-round playoff victory in seven seasons with a clinching interception.
